Technical CentreThe goal of the Technical Centre is to provide market leading support to all Klarius customers, by developing products which meet legislation requirements, and exceed customer’s expectation in a timely manner. With a dedicated team of 27 experienced engineers & technicians, working to meet the increasingly fast moving and technically challenging market for Exhausts & Catalysts the Klarius team is made up from experienced technicians & specialists who are committed to delighting customers, by quickly designing and developing new products, which meet legislation requirements and are quickly available to the market. The team is made up of Design Engineers, Prototype Builders, Jigs & Fixtures Builders and Vehicle Testing Technicians. It can quickly design, test and Type Approve products, bringing them to the production stage at the earliest possible opportunity. The team can rapidly produce small production batches to avoid delay, or hand over designs to the manufacturing facilities for large scale production volumes - which ever suits customer needs. All products are subjected to stringent test procedures during design to ensure that they meet or exceed current European Legislation requirements, which involves testing them to be equivalent to Original Equipment specifications for Noise, and Back-pressure. All of the Type Approval tests are independently witnessed in the UK by the VCA (Vehicle Certification Agency) and the Test Facility is VCA approved. So many new products are developed at the centre that Klarius has a weekly test cycle with the VCA, at Klarius’ fully approved on-site facility. The Klarius Technical Centre has the resources to develop and test parts quickly and efficiently using in house equipment & expertise. The facility boasts the required equipment to make Type Approval tests. Investments have been made in an ISO-10844 test track, to enable drive-by noise tests to be carried out on site; Klarius also uses a Chassis Dynamometer to simulate driving conditions to enable back-pressure testing to be carried out. Durability is also tested on a static engine & dynamometer system, to ensure construction is robust during product life-cycle. Following thorough testing, the designs are productionised so that customers may purchase any quantity of parts from small lots to mass production. |
