The Klarius Group is leading the way in providing environmental solutions to the automotive aftermarket. Klarius has long been at the forefront of a campaign lobbying HM Government of the benefits of EU type-approval on catalytic converters and exhaust systems. This campaign, certainly in terms of catalytic converters, has been a success with the Government planning to introduce a new law in 2009 that will make type approved catalytic converters mandatory on all UK vehicles registered after 1st January 2001.

EU type-approval provides evidence for a customer that the catalytic converter or exhaust system he/she is buying has been subjected to, and passed, a series of rigorous checks. It is a mark of quality, which means the system is at least as good as the original equipment design. As a result, not only is the system more likely to last longer, but it can also help reduce emissions, increase fuel efficiency and reduce noise pollution.

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)

Klarius also provides an environmental anti-pollution solution for diesel engines with its diesel particulate filter (DPF). Designed for use on heavy trucks, industrial vehicles, buses and coaches, the DPF can immediately improve the quality of the exhaust gases from these vehicles; reducing by more than 90% harmful unburnt hydrocarbon particles (HC) and carbon oxide (CO) emissions. Moreover, when supplemented by bio fuels, the DPF technology not only reduces pollutants but it also reduces, the generation of greenhouse effect gases.

When enhanced by the use of a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) process, a technology employed by Klarius DPFs to reduce Nox emissions, the DPF technology is capable of reducing the regulated diesel emissions (CO2, HC, MP and Nox) to levels lower than those recommended by the Euro V standard.
