Reducing Noise Pollution

Noise pollution is becoming an increasingly severe problem, especially in built up urban areas. As the world becomes busier it is extremely hard to find anywhere were background noise is not present 24 hours a day. While many people consider this increase in noise a nuisance, few realise the potential harm that it can have.

Noise pollution has proved to be damaging to peoples physiological and physical health; it can lead to stress, hypertension and tinnitus which can in turn cause cardiovascular issues such as coronary artery disease. As well as this noise pollution has a detrimental effect on wildlife as it can drastically reduce the areas of useable habitat for many animals. While there are many contributors to noise pollution, motor vehicles are a principle source due to the number that are now on the roads.

Klarius recognises that it is important to reduce noise pollution where possible so is committed to testing every exhaust system that it produces for noise levels. Using its custom built testing track at the Cheadle production plant every exhaust system is put through a vigorous Type Approval test. Klarius is proud to say that every exhaust system that is in production produces the same noise level or less than that of the original equipment, whereas most aftermarket exhaust systems are significantly louder.
